Typical household refuse, garden vegetation and old appliances and furniture

NOTE: All waste must be in manageable pieces

Fridge De-gassing

Fridges and freezers must be first de-gassed before being disposed of at the Waste Transfer Station. This is to recover the ozone depleting gases contained within the cooling systems of fridges and freezers. Leader and Watt or other applicance stores can de-gas fridges and freezers.

Car Bodies

Car bodies are not accepted at the Waste Transfer Station unless they are broken down into small manageable pieces (i.e.: can be lifted by one person).

Vehicles can be offered to a car dismantler/wreckers yard or stripped vehicles can be disposed of at sites out of the district (e.g.: Feilding Site - phone Manawatu District Council 06 323 0000).

Food Scraps

All domestic food scraps are to be suitably wrapped. Special requirements may apply to smelly loads or commericial food waste.
